As the cornerstone of the universe, Jesus is the ultimate authority and is in control of all that exists. No area of the universe is outside of His authority. Abraham Kuyper said it well: “In the total expanse of human life there is not a single square inch of which the Christ, who alone is sovereign, does not declare, ‘That is mine!'”
Because Jesus is the cornerstone our hope must be built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness because the righteousness of Christ is the perfect holiness, justice, and obedience to God that Jesus exemplified in His life, death, and resurrection. This righteousness is imputed to all who put their faith in Him, making them acceptable to God and fit for our ultimate destiny of eternal life with Him.
